José Boto spoke to Sky Sport Italia about how Amorim's tactical style is very special and requires time and the right players. When asked about the possibility of joining AC Milan in the future, Boto said: "If there's a call? Let's wait and see."

Boto met Amorim at the "Portuguese Football Summit." The two worked together at Benfica for six seasons, when Boto was head of recruitment and Amorim was a player. Discussing Amorim's potential to manage AC Milan, Boto said: "His football style is very special and requires time and players suited to his way of playing. Of course, the team needs to win, but he also needs some time to adapt to Italian football, and for his players to adapt to his style. If he gets that time, it would be good for AC Milan, as the team could ultimately pursue important objectives after Pioli."

Regarding whether he could help Amorim, Boto stated: "I have a contract with Flamengo. It's a big club, and working in the Brazilian football environment is a unique experience, especially at a club with 40 million fans. Italian football attracts me, I've said that many times. Sports directors are more important in Italy than in other countries, and I also enjoy staying in football. Speaking about former Serie A players currently in Brazil, Boto said: "Alex Sandro, Jorginho, Danilo, and Emerson are all excellent. These four players who played in Italy have helped us win the Copa Libertadores and the league title. We have just three months left to win the league title and Copa Libertadores again; we've reached the semi-finals and are still competing."

Boto believes Brazilian football now relies more on foreign players rather than a rising generation of Brazilian players in Europe. He said: "There is a talent crisis in Brazil, but the league remains strong because we have many excellent players."

Commenting on Wesley's transfer to Italy, Boto said: "His performance has exceeded expectations because Gasperini wanted him since his time at Atalanta. Wesley had some defensive issues at Flamengo, and initially I thought he would struggle in Italy, but Gasperini gave him confidence, and currently he's performing excellently."
