Everton drew 2-2 with Hull City away from home. After the match, speaking to the Matchday program, manager Moyes stated that the team's overall performance fell far short of their recent standards. He had expected the team to win after taking the lead, but defensive errors and missed opportunities prevented them from securing the victory.

Discussing the team's performance
Moyes said: "I'm really unhappy with the overall performance of the team. We played far below our recent standards. When we took a 2-1 lead, I never thought we wouldn't win in the end, which is very disappointing. But a few defensive errors caused us trouble, and we also missed quite a few chances ourselves. If we had taken them, the game could have been much easier."
Regarding Brennan Johnson's disallowed goal
Moyes commented: "We had a shot first, the ball was blocked, and he might have been in an offside position when that shot happened, and then he scored on the rebound. I can totally accept that decision. But I'm not sure if the goalkeeper's heel kept him onside. I hope they drew the offside lines accurately.
At halftime, we were very unhappy with the players' first-half performance, so we expected them to have a strong start to the second half. But we lost out in challenges and lost possession poorly, which resulted in the opponent scoring. This meant we had to find a way to get back into the game, which we did, and it was well deserved. But ultimately, looking at the results they achieved here previously against Manchester United and Aston Villa, you shouldn't be too disappointed to take a point from here. They do have good momentum right now. But I felt at the time that after we went 2-1 up, we would be the only ones to win in the end."
