According to Evening Standard, Chelsea's 5-1 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday was somewhat overshadowed by the latest injury news regarding Reece James. James was expected to play, but was surprisingly ruled out of the squad for the match at Stamford Bridge.

Ahead of the international break, Chelsea had several players dealing with fitness issues. However, Caicedo, Pedro, Cole Palmer and Moisés Caicedo all recovered from injury or discomfort and featured against Bournemouth.
James is currently in a race against time to recover for Saturday's match against Everton, but that fixture may come too soon for him.
Below is the latest information on Chelsea's injury list and expected return dates.
Reece James
Last month, James suffered a hamstring injury during training, forcing him to withdraw from the England squad. However, he failed to return to Chelsea's lineup for Saturday's match as anticipated.
After three weeks of recovery, James returned to full training with the squad and was expected to feature alongside Moisés Caicedo in midfield. Ultimately, he was not included in the matchday squad.
Before the match, it was revealed that James had suffered an injury during Friday's training session. Manager Enzo Maresca said: "Unfortunately, Reece picked up a small injury yesterday, and we will assess the situation over the coming days."
After the match, Maresca revealed that James had sustained a knee injury. He said: "He felt a bit uncomfortable.

"He was assessed late Friday afternoon, and a minor knee issue was identified.
"We need to determine how long he will need to recover, and his condition will be reassessed weekly."
It remains unclear how long James will be sidelined. However, Maresca's mention of "weekly assessments" suggests he could be out for some time.
Expected return date: October 24, home fixture against Tottenham.

Jaison Gittens
Gittens had an impressive previous season, but due to injury and other factors, he has only played 56 minutes for Chelsea in competitive matches this season.
Gittens was called up to the England U21 squad during the international break, but was substituted during the match against Kazakhstan and was subsequently photographed on crutches wearing a protective boot. He subsequently left the England U21 training camp early and returned to Cobham for further assessment.
Maresca confirmed on Friday that Gittens is expected to be sidelined for approximately three weeks. He said: "Bad news from the international break is that he suffered an ankle injury and is expected to miss a few weeks."
Gittens will attempt to return before the end of the month, but time may not be on his side.
Expected return date: October 24, home fixture against Tottenham.
Emmanuel Emegha
Emmanuel Emegha's current situation remains somewhat unclear. The Dutch striker suffered a hamstring injury during pre-season but has since returned to training with the first team.
Nevertheless, he was not included in the squad list for the Bournemouth match, which has raised questions about his fitness.
However, his omission could simply be due to intense competition at striker, as he currently sits behind João Félix and Danny Welbeck, who are both in good form.
Expected return date: October 17, away fixture against Everton.
