Having won a fourth Norwegian league title in five years, Bodø/Glimt now face FC Twente in the Europa League playoff round.

A 1-1 draw at Ligue 1 side Nice coupled with other results in the group stage on Thursday night, saw Bodø/Glimt fall agonisingly short of securing a direct place in the Round of 16 with the Norwegian side now set to face FC Twente (Netherlands) in the Europa League play-off round.

Times have changed drastically for the ‘Superlaget’ who were traditionally just another one of Norwegian football’s regional sides with the town of Bodø just inside the Arctic circle.

The team have only become a force to be reckoned with since the turn of the century bagging four of the past five domestic Eliteserien titles.

Inevitably, the weather forms part of the teams success at the compact Aspmyra Stadium with visiting teams often struggling in freezing conditions with temperatures on matchday sometimes registering 14 degrees fahrenheit.

Next up for the men in yellow and black is a two legged tie against Dutch side FC Twente in the Europa League with the winning side poised to face Glasgow Rangers or Greek giants Olympiakos in the next stage if the Europa League.
