"The longer it goes on, the rougher opponents are with Michael. On the one hand, it's because he's so good that opposing clubs will try everything, even the most dangerous methods, to stop him, but this is also very dangerous," said Bayern sporting director Eberl in an interview quoted by L'Equipe on Thursday. "He hasn't been injured in over two years since joining, and if referees don't officiate more strictly, the risk is obviously very high."

"Sooner or later they'll tackle me out of the game"

In Bayern's 0-0 draw with Schalke 04 on September 5, Olise was particularly annoyed by unpunished fouls from opponents. After being tackled in the final minutes of the match, he angrily confronted German referee Robert Schröder.

"You have to be more decisive, otherwise they'll tackle me out of the game sooner or later. You can't just keep reacting to this attitude from opposing defenders. You can't let everything go, that's impossible," he told the referee at the time.

In Bayern's opening match of the season, the German Super Cup final against Dortmund, Olise also could not hide his frustration after the referee showed a yellow card to a Munich player for unsportsmanlike conduct.

"We got a yellow card, and they got none. They committed about ten fouls," the midfielder complained. "Every time they came at us, they fouled again and again. You're the referee!"
