Oliver Baumann expressed his frustration after being left out of Jurgen Klopp's Germany squad for the upcoming international break.

Klopp named two squads with a total of 44 players for the extended international break as he prepares for his first matches in charge since taking over from Julian Nagelsmann.

Baumann was already frustrated with his role at the national team, having been demoted to second-choice goalkeeper for the 2026 World Cup.

He was set for a major role at the competition after starting in all six of their qualifying matches, as well as their two warm-up matches.

However, the 36-year-old did not play a single minute at the tournament after Manuel Neuer reversed his decision to retire from international football.

Baumann previously revealed his frustration with Nagelsmann, and the Hoffenheim goalkeeper is far from happy after his recent omission by Klopp.

"They are taking a different path, and I have to accept and respect that.

"The summer hurt much more, the way it happened was unbelievable - and not just from one direction, actually."

The likes of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Jonas Urbig and Noah Atubolu were all named in Klopp's squad for their upcoming Nations League campaign.

During the first international break of the season, Germany will face Netherlands before playing Greece, first at home and then away, either side of hosting Serbia.
