Luis Enrique told Folha de S.Paulo that he is adapting to the wing-back role in Chivu's 3-5-2 system and constantly growing in it.

Luis Enrique spoke about his experience playing as a versatile wing-back in Chivu's 3-5-2 system: "It's been a great experience and very rewarding. This position demands a lot physically and mentally because I need to help defensively while not losing my attacking characteristics. I like having the freedom to attack, using my speed, looking for one-on-one opportunities, and getting close to the box. I've always been more of an attacking player, so I enjoy participating in the offense. I'm gaining a deeper understanding of the wing-back role, and I believe this is also helping me grow as a better player."

When asked how a player transitions from an attacking position to one with significantly more defensive responsibilities, he said: "The most important thing is a willingness to learn. When changing positions, you have to understand that it's not just about running more or marking more aggressively. There are complete tactical requirements involved—positioning, covering, and reading the game. You need to know when to press, when to drop back into the box, and when you can get involved in the attack. For me, listening to the coach and teammates and understanding what the team needs from me is crucial."

Regarding his growth, he added: "In Brazil, I learned a lot about creativity, improvisation, and a more natural playing style. In France, I experienced a very intense, physical, and fast-paced style of football. In Italy, I'm learning a lot tactically. Here, there's a strong emphasis on positioning, space, and judging every moment of the game. As for the Brazilian national team? Getting called up has always been a goal. Every Brazilian player who reaches this level dreams of wearing the national team jersey. I follow the players in the national team and know they are all very talented. In the last call-up, Wesley and Matheuzinho were included, and I know they are both excellent players. Every player has their own characteristics, and I must focus on improving my own."
