In the first round of the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League A, France played away against Turkey. This was Zidane's first game as coach of the French national team. Compared to the World Cup semifinal against Spain, France's starting eleven included only four personnel changes.

In defense, Lacroix started alongside Upamecano. This was a forced change, as Saliba suffered an injury during that match and has remained sidelined since then; Lacroix replaced him in the lineup.

At left-back, AFC Bournemouth defender Truffert started, replacing Digne, who was not called up for this squad. Truffert was recalled to the French national team after four years away.

In midfield, Koné replaced Tchouaméni. Following discussions with Zidane, Tchouaméni was excluded from this national squad due to fitness concerns.

Cherki replaced Barcola, joining Olise, Mbappé, and Dembélé in attack.

In other positions, Maignan, Upamecano, Kounde, and Rabiot remained unchanged.
