According to talkSPORT, host Angelina Kelly believes Ronaldo should join Manchester City and could even become the top scorer in England's fourth tier.

Kelly thinks that, given Manchester City's financial fair play conviction, Ronaldo and Manchester City would be a perfect match.

In recent days, both Ronaldo and Manchester City have dominated headlines. Manchester City is awaiting Premier League sanctions, which could range from points deductions to expulsion from the top flight.

As for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, he left the Portugal national team training camp after being benched in Portugal's 2-1 victory over Norway.

This marked the first time since 2008 that the Manchester United and Real Madrid legend had remained on the bench for an entire international match.

Reportedly, former Al-Nassr manager Jorge Jesus allegedly misled Ronaldo into believing he would play in Oslo, after which Ronaldo released a strong statement on social media.

Kelly believes that a partnership between Ronaldo and Manchester City now seems fated. Five years ago, Ronaldo was close to joining Manchester City before being persuaded to return to Old Trafford.

Kelly said on talkSPORT's "Fiery Fridays" podcast that Ronaldo had not ruled out a future move to Manchester City, and he wouldn't want Manchester City's conviction dominating headlines this week.

The Manchester United fan stated, "If you can't beat them, join them!"

Kelly said: "I feel for Ronaldo. He has left the Portugal national team camp after crucial talks with the new manager.

"The reason I feel for poor Ronaldo is because on any other international break, that would be the hottest topic in town—everyone would be talking about it.

"But now, everyone just wants to talk about Manchester City's conviction.

"This was meant to be his high-profile exit. Even his best friend Piers Morgan cares more about Manchester City, so what's a girl to do?

"If you can't beat them, I say, Ronaldo, join them!

"I think he should go and sign for Manchester City because, honestly, if Manchester City continues to have points deducted for the next five years, Haaland might not stay there forever.

"So Ronaldo should seize the opportunity, score a few more goals after January, and help Manchester City finish 19th.

"Then he can become the top scorer in League Two next. In my opinion, the stadium attendance and level of play will be better than the Saudi league.

"And he will definitely reach the 1,000-goal mark in his career; it's a win-win situation for him all around.

"Besides, since we are all now experts on Manchester City's sponsorship deals, one thing we learned this week is that they have always struggled to compete with Liverpool's investments without their own Abu Dhabi-owned businesses as partners.

"So how do you change that? Bring the most famous person in the world to your team, and commercial partnerships will immediately skyrocket.

"It's also a way to annoy Manchester United fans again, so I still say it's a win-win for everyone. Let's get Ronaldo in a sky blue shirt."

talkSPORT veteran host Adrian Durham was shocked after hearing this, stating: "We need to call the fire department because this is probably the hottest take I've ever heard in my life.

"But you know what's strangest? I think you make a lot of sense. I kept listening and thinking, 'Please don't agree, don't agree,' but it actually makes perfect sense."

talkSPORT chief football reporter Alex Crook then suggested that if Manchester City were relegated to League Two, Ronaldo should be coached by Guardiola.

Crook said: "Guardiola has publicly stated he supports Manchester City. Guardiola has chosen his jobs: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester City—he's chosen the three richest teams in their respective leagues.

"If he really cares about Manchester City that much, if he's really that good, then let him take over in League Two and see if he can manage it on a Tuesday night at Accrington Stanley. He wouldn't have the guts to do that."
