Milan defender Mario Gila recently participated in the Sport Festival organized by La Gazzetta dello Sport in Trento, where he discussed his decision to join Milan this summer, Internazionale's interest in him, and new coach Rúben Amorim.

This summer, Milan signed players like Moreira, Ramos, and Gila. Gila, who joined from Lazio, is regarded by many as one of the team's most successful signings of the summer.

Regarding this, Gila said: "Thank you for rating me so highly. I am very happy to be at this club. We made significant investments in the transfer market, bringing in some important players for this project. I will do my best to help the team at all times and show my true self on the field."

"Bringing in these players is a good start to help Milan return to a high level. Perhaps we cannot reach Milan's historical peak yet, but this is a step for the team to start growing and bringing joy back to the fans."

Gila confirmed that several clubs wanted to sign him this summer, but he ultimately chose Milan.

Gila stated: "Several teams were interested in me at the time, but I chose Milan. When a team with such a glorious history invites you, it's hard to refuse. Maybe some other clubs are in a better phase right now, but helping Milan win again is an experience you can't get anywhere else."

When asked if the teams pursuing him included Internazionale, Gila clearly replied: "Yes."

As for why he ultimately chose Milan, he explained: "We know that in recent years, Milan's level hasn't been as high as Internazionale's or Napoli's. But the satisfaction of playing for such a team and working to help it win again is much greater than joining a team that is already winning."

Subsequently, Gila spoke about Milan's new coach, Rúben Amorim.

He said: "Amorim is a coach who can instil fighting spirit in the team. He demands active and aggressive pressing. He is a modern coach, very suitable for European football."

"We are still in the early stages of this project and need time, but results will eventually come. He demands a lot from players in all aspects. Tactically, he is not rigid; sometimes he can be more direct, but he likes the team to build up play from the back. In today's football, you have to be strong in both offensive and defensive phases."

Gila concluded: "He is a very demanding coach, but also very calm, because he knows we are at the beginning of a new project. His ideas and philosophy are very sound, and we are happy to have him coaching the team."
