According to Goal, former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboué believes that Manchester City legend Yaya Touré possesses all the necessary qualities to become the first Ivorian to manage in the Premier League, and he supports his potential return to English football as a manager.

Eboué believes Yaya Touré has the credentials to return to English football as a top-flight manager. The 43-year-old former Arsenal right-back maintains regular contact with Yaya Touré and has witnessed his compatriot's dedication and progress as he transitions into coaching. Eboué is optimistic about Yaya Touré's coaching journey, believing it will pave the way for a generation of Ivorian coaches to enter the world's most competitive league.
Speaking about the prospect of African tacticians arriving in the Premier League and the immense pride felt by his home country, Eboué shared his views with LiveFootballTickets: "Why not? Maybe one day Yaya Touré will be there. Everyone in Côte d'Ivoire is very proud of what he is doing. Yaya is my friend and I speak to him sometimes."
Reflecting on his former national teammate's steady progress in coaching, the former Arsenal defender added: "I believe that one day he can come back to England as a manager because he is doing very well now. Maybe one day we will see an Ivorian manager in the Premier League. Why not?"
Eboué's optimism stems from the methodical path Yaya Touré has taken since obtaining his UEFA Pro License. The three-time Premier League winner has not rushed into high-profile positions, instead serving as an assistant coach at Olimpik Donetsk, Akhmat Grozny, and Standard Liège. From 2022 to 2023, he gained valuable youth development experience at the Tottenham Hotspur academy.
This coaching progression culminated in his role as Roberto Mancini's assistant coach with the Saudi Arabia national team, providing him with the tactical experience needed before taking on a head coach role independently.
Yaya Touré signed with SK Slovan Bratislava until June 2029 and made history in August by becoming the first African coach to lead a team in the UEFA Champions League group stage. While a 6-1 defeat to defending champions Paris Saint-Germain in the opening group match was a harsh reality check, the former Barcelona midfielder remains committed to his attacking 4-3-3 system. With a congested fixture list ahead, the challenge now is to balance domestic dominance with the demands of elite European competition.
