According to Sport, Manchester United academy talent JJ-Gabriel turned 16 on October 6, reaching the legal age to sign his first professional contract and ushering in a new phase in the battle for his signature.

The young player, who has attracted attention from top European clubs, has reportedly informed Manchester United's sporting management that he does not wish to remain at Old Trafford. JJ-Gabriel believes he has not been given sufficient first-team opportunities and hopes for a change of environment. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich are all potential destinations.

Sources in England indicate that Manchester United is exploring possible regulatory and legal avenues to protect its interests should the player ultimately depart. Meanwhile, several European giants are closely monitoring the situation.

JJ-Gabriel's links to Barcelona have recently intensified. The talented midfielder has reportedly been training with a personal coach in Castelldefels and visiting local specialists to maintain his fitness.

JJ-Gabriel joined Manchester United at age 11 and is considered one of the most important talents in his age group. The club had designed an accelerated path to the first team for him, but the player and his representatives believe the opportunities have not materialized as expected. Notably, the attacking midfielder acquired EU nationality through his family, a condition that will facilitate his transfer to other European countries under international rules applicable to minors.

Now, a new phase is about to begin. Although turning 16 does not automatically make JJ-Gabriel a free agent—as he remains registered with the FA by Manchester United—it does mark a turning point. Barcelona, Real Madrid, and other interested clubs are closely following developments, while Old Trafford is prepared to do everything possible to retain this highly anticipated prospect. The attacking midfielder will evaluate all offers received to make the decision that best benefits his future development.
