According to Tyc, Argentine star Messi will play his farewell match for the national team on October 7 (CET), in a friendly against Benin, where he will wear a specially designed jersey.

The jersey features a blue and white striped design, with two larger sky-blue vertical stripes and a white vertical stripe in the middle across the chest. The Argentine flag's sun emblem is printed in the center, while Messi's name and jersey number are rendered in gold.

The Rosario-born star was a central figure and iconic player for Argentina during the recent World Cup. After a historic 21-year journey with the national team, he has decided to retire from international football.

Messi did not participate in Argentina's previous two friendly matches—a 4-0 victory over Bolivia and a 7-0 win against Burkina Faso. His farewell match will be held at the Monumental Stadium, River Plate's home ground, promising an emotional and historic night.
