On October 12, Beijing Time (CET), Manchester City defeated Liverpool 3-0 away from home, inflicting the Reds' first league defeat, consolidating the club's position as league leaders and boosting morale. Roy Keane also praised Manchester City's performance on Sky Sports' post-match program.

Roy Keane said: "In recent weeks, people have made all sorts of statements, but today Manchester City made a powerful statement with their performance on the pitch. The red card certainly helped Manchester City a lot, but you still need to show your strength. All three goals scored by Manchester City were fantastic."

"This victory will greatly boost Manchester City's morale. They've started the season well, which is good news for Maresca. At this point, you have to ask yourself: 'Who is Guardiola?' These days, people don't even mention the concerns we had about Manchester City when Guardiola left or when Rodri was absent."

"Doku's performance made a huge difference. He constantly drove forward against the opposing defense with the ball. Beyond the opponent's red card, Doku's introduction from the bench basically changed the entire game."
