A Russian football agent believes Roman Abramovich could turn to CSKA Moscow once his Chelsea exit is complete.

UK sanctions handed to the current Blues owner following Russia's invasion of Ukraine mean he is in a position where he will almost have to release control of the club he has bankrolled to the top of the game with billions of pounds since taking control in 2003.

But despite having to expectedly and reluctantly release control of the Blues to help keep the club afloat, Timur Gurtskaya believes there is a route back into the game for the 55-year-old in his homeland at CSKA Moscow.

'The most logical decision for him would be to take CSKA Moscow, club for which he has always been attached with,' Gurtskaya told YouTube channel Vyshli! via TuttoMercatoWeb.

'He also has a good relationship with the current owner. I don't think there are any other clubs.

'What is happening at Chelsea is a shame. Abramovich has held the club for many years, but now he has become someone to target'.

The Government has placed the club under a special licence after sanctioning Abramovich. The licence is designed to prevent Chelsea - and by extension Abramovich - generating any new revenue, including from ticket sales.

As it stands Chelsea cannot sell tickets and only season ticket holders are allowed to attend matches, or those who purchased tickets before the sanctions were placed on Abramovich on March 10.

They also cannot agree any new transfers or contracts or sell merchandise while Abramovich remains the official owner.

Sportsmail revealed on Monday that two hundred investors are interested in taking over at Stamford Bridge, and must show their motivations and business plan for purchase made in cash thought to be worth around £3bn ahead of Friday's deadline.

As it stands, property developer Nick Candy, a consortium led by LA Dodgers part-owner Todd Boehly and a group led by British businessman Sir Martin Broughton are among those rated as the most serious contenders. On Monday, news of a £2.7billion offer from Saudi Media Group emerged.
