According to TuttoMercato, Roma are considering signing Mexican defender Israel Reyes, who is one of the candidates to replace Celik and can play as a center-back and right wing-back in a three-man defense.

News from Mexico states that Roma have made the first move, offering nearly €5 million for the Club América defender born in 2000. Club América values him between €6 million and €7 million, so there is still a gap between the asking price and the offer. Reyes is known for his solid defense, excellent anticipation and game reading ability, and strong tackling. He is also willing to push forward and participate in attacks when playing on the flank.

The 25-year-old also performed well for the Mexican national team in the last World Cup, playing in 4 of 5 matches. He started two matches, against South Africa and the Czech Republic, and was also deployed on the right flank in other games, further demonstrating the tactical flexibility that Roma values. Club América hopes he can return to the team soon to catch the start of the Mexican league's autumn season, but Roma's interest is likely to intensify quickly.
