Luis Enrique was unable to celebrate his contract extension with three points as Paris Saint-Germain fell to a 2-1 defeat against Monaco at the Parc Des Princes.

PSG's two-time Champions League-winning boss has signed a new deal until 2030, and things looked bright for his team when Marquinhos opened the scoring on Friday, but Flavio Nazinho and Stanis Idumbo got on the scoresheet in the second half as Monaco maintained their 100% start in Ligue 1.

Shortly before kick-off, it was announced that Willian Pacho (2031), Joao Neves (2031), Fabian Ruiz (2028), Senny Mayulu (2031) and Beraldo (2031) had also signed new deals with the European champions, who are yet to win in the league this season.

Lukas Hradecky was called into action in the 11th minute, denying Desire Doue with a stunning reflex save before both Neves and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia failed to hit the target with efforts of their own inside the following four seconds.

PSG eventually broke the deadlock just after the half-hour mark; Kvaratskhelia was played into the box after Monaco failed to clear their lines from a corner, and the winger's powerful cross was awkwardly turned in by Marquinhos' chest.

Monaco absorbed more pressure at the start of the second half, with Maghnes Akliouche and Vitinha testing Hradecky, but the visitors were level in the 58th minute as Nazinho headed in at the back post from Teze's cross.

Filipe Luis' side then hit PSG on the break in the 72nd minute, resulting in Idumbo showing great skill to beat Achraf Hakimi around the outside before firing past Matvey Safonov at the near post, with the goalkeeper offering up far too much space.

Luis Enrique brought on Ousmane Dembele, Ferran Torres and Mika Godts in search of a late equaliser, but PSG could not rescue a third consecutive draw as Hradecky pulled off one last save in stoppage time to keep out Dembele.

Hradecky helps Monaco stay perfect

Monaco were the only team to win both of their opening Ligue 1 games this season, and Filipe Luis' perfect start as their head coach rolls on after an impressive win over the reigning champions.

The visitors produced the most clinical of performances as they scored with their only two shots on target, with their four attempts overall totalling 0.52 expected goals (xG), while PSG accumulated 2.19 xG from their 23 attempts.

Despite PSG's relentless attacking nature, Hradecky was in top form for Monaco. He made nine saves; only Stephane Ruffier (10 versus PSG in January 2010) has made more for Monaco in a single Ligue 1 match since Opta began collecting this data in 2006-07.

Monaco have now won their opening three Ligue 1 matches of a season for the ninth time in their history, with only PSG (13) doing so more often.

Meanwhile, PSG have failed to win any of their first three Ligue 1 matches of a season (D2 L1) for the first time since 2012-13 (D3).
