According to Argentine media outlet MinutoUno, Benin national team defender Mohamed Tijani was interviewed by C5N ahead of the friendly match between Argentina and Benin.

Benin is preparing for a friendly match against Argentina, with Messi undoubtedly the star of the show. The friendly at the Monumental Stadium this Tuesday will be one of the Argentine captain's final appearances for the national team, and for his opponents, an unforgettable experience.

During Benin's stay in Buenos Aires, defender Mohamed Tijani was interviewed by C5N and revealed his approach to facing Messi. Rather than discussing defensive tactics to contain the Argentine number 10, Tijani took a more relaxed stance.

In Tijani's view, this match represents an opportunity to enjoy a historic moment. He stated: "There's no need to specifically mark Messi. We just need to enjoy the game." These remarks drew attention, as he is about to face one of football's greatest players. However, Tijani is not focused on limiting Messi through man-marking or special tactics; instead, he openly expresses his admiration for him.

Tijani explained that Benin prefers to approach this match differently than usual. Given Messi's impending retirement from international football, the friendly holds special significance for all involved, making it a rare opportunity for his opponents. He added with a laugh: "We don't have a special defensive plan for Messi. We just need to enjoy the game, that's all."

Tijani even described what he envisions happening when he faces Messi on the field. Rather than focus solely on defensive duties, he hopes to cherish the chance to play against this legendary player. He admitted: "I will look at him and say: 'Messi, you are God.' He is the best player in the world."
