Recently, former Dutch international and ex-Barcelona midfielder Edgar Davids was interviewed on Van der Vaart's podcast, where he discussed former teammates Ronaldinho, Iniesta, and Xavi.

Davids joined Barcelona on loan during the 2003-04 winter transfer window, helping to strengthen the team that was just beginning to emerge from a slump. He and Ronaldinho were teammates at Barcelona for half a season. During his time at Barcelona, Davids made 20 appearances, contributing 1 goal, 1 assist, 5 yellow cards, and 1 red card.

Davids said: "When I arrived at Barcelona, Ronaldinho wasn't the best Ronaldinho yet. He was still finding his way, but he wasn't the later version of himself. He improved later and became the person we all know. He was finding himself then, and then he reached a completely different level.

"We had Ronaldinho, but there were two other lads in that team. Iniesta and Xavi, that kind of positional play... you might as well go home. Some of the things they did made you think, this is impossible, this isn't fair to others, how can you keep possession for so long and so easily?"
