Mbappé recently accepted an exclusive interview with José Félix Díaz, editorial director of *AS*, at the Real Madrid training base. This was the French forward's first interview with a Spanish newspaper since joining Real Madrid. The two sides had an in-depth discussion. In the third part of this exclusive interview, Mbappé discussed Real Madrid's team foundation and winning tradition, his ambition to win everything, the Ballon d'Or as a personal goal, and his hope for the award to return to Real Madrid.

Reporter: The championship winner will only be known at the end of the season, at least in the Champions League. Now we are in the period of awarding individual prizes. I imagine you are also preparing for the team honors at the end of the year.

Mbappé: Yes, indeed... because you have to lay a good foundation for the team, at the team level, overall defense, and so on. We also have a new coaching staff and a new tactical setup. I think we are fully in the stage of laying the foundation for winning in the second half of the season.

Reporter: Individual awards are becoming increasingly important in football, aren't they? But this is based on team performance. Without your teammates, or any teammate without the team, it would be impossible to compete for these awards, right?

Mbappé: No, that's impossible. That's why I think it's a privilege to play for such a great club like Real Madrid. It puts you in the best position to compete for both team and individual awards, and it brings you a sense of happiness and honor. When you become a member of Real Madrid, you have so many positive possibilities, so I always say that this is the club you must play for. It is the best club in the world, with the most glorious history, and it brings endless dreams to thousands of people.

Reporter: What haven't you won in football yet? We know you've won the World Cup but not the Champions League, so what's your next big goal?

Mbappé: Everything. Everything. I think what I've won—we talked about that a few minutes ago—let the past be the past. I still crave to win everything, including what I've already won and what you just mentioned I haven't won yet. I am a very competitive person, so I don't want to see others win. This drive motivates me every day. That's why I wake up to win, to create victories, to build a foundation with my team to compete for all championships. When you are at the best club in the world, you never need to make choices. You have to fight for everything, and we will try to win everything.

Reporter: The Ballon d'Or is already on the horizon. I imagine this is an honor all players dream of, right?

Mbappé: Yes, this is also important. We just talked about competition, and the Ballon d'Or is part of this competitive spirit. Of course, it's an individual award, so it's important to distinguish between team and individual honors. This award is given to a single player, so individual performance carries significant weight, but it's also a manifestation of football's competitive spirit. You always want to do better than others, better than another team, better than another player. I think this is very positive.

Reporter: Can Kylian Mbappé win the Ballon d'Or?

Mbappé: My view is that it could be a good year. I've said this before, but the final result doesn't depend on me. My goal is always to help my teammates, do my best, and convince those who have the right to vote. Because ultimately, it's people like you who vote, right? (laughs)

So I always want to speak through my feet. The rest is part of football, but I always try to focus on what I can do on the field.

Reporter: Who are your top three favorites? Or who do you think is the biggest favorite this year?

Mbappé: Are you asking if I think I have voting rights? (laughs)

Reporter: I can't say, but you can.

Mbappé: No, I think... this is not something I should worry about, because I'm not thinking about who will be selected. I'm thinking about how I can win it, because the most important thing for me—more for Real Madrid than for myself—is that I hope the Ballon d'Or returns to Real Madrid. This is the best club in the world. Let it return to the Bernabéu, to the *Merengues*, to all these fans, to bring joy to those who deserve it more than anyone else. Being a Real Madrid player means fighting for all awards. The Ballon d'Or is one of them, and I will fight hard to bring it back to Real Madrid. You have seen those predecessors who have succeeded in bringing it here, and I also want to be one of them.

Reporter: This doesn't conflict with winning team championships. They actually complement each other, don't they?

Mbappé: No, they complement each other. As I said, you just mentioned that now is the stage of awarding individual prizes, but I also said that now is the time to lay the foundation for team championships in the second half of the season. We can't rest for six months and then say we want to win everything after that. Football doesn't work that way. That's why we are very focused, and I think with the coach, the club, and the system we have, we know clearly what we need to do, but we have to prove it on the field as always.
