Former Brazil international Melo stated in a video that the Portuguese national team's treatment of Ronaldo differs significantly from how the Argentine national team treats Messi, and Ronaldo subsequently liked the video.

In the video, Melo said: "In my opinion, that's right, and I agree with Paulo's point: the way Portuguese players treat Ronaldo is very different from how Argentine players treat Messi.

You know, I can see opponents showing much more respect to Ronaldo – maybe I'm mistaken, but that's the intuitive impression coming across, right? I see opponents showing great respect for Ronaldo when facing him. The young player who scored yesterday, Napoli's forward (Højlund), completely turned into a die-hard fan after the match, all because Ronaldo is his idol. On the other hand, this kind of respect is lacking within Portugal's national team itself. I think that's completely wrong.

Because in the Portuguese national team, nobody can compare to Ronaldo.

You understand? It really shouldn't be like this! You can't let the greatest player in football history leave like that, as if nothing happened. Absolutely not, this is completely unacceptable!

He just left, and nobody went to console him.

Absolutely not! This is completely unacceptable..."

Following this, Ronaldo's account appeared in the list of people who liked the video post. The video's caption reads: "In the Portuguese national team, nobody can compare to Ronaldo. Felipe Melo speaks out about Ronaldo's current situation in Portugal's national team."
