According to Sky Sports, Götze discussed his career, life at Eintracht Frankfurt, investment plans, and his views on Klopp in an interview.

Speaking about the different roles he has played in his career, from "Super Mario" and World Cup winner to investor and father, Götze reflected on what he values most now: "I would say a bit of everything—sometimes more, sometimes less. People grow over time and gain experience. From playing in the Bundesliga at 17 or 18 until now, there have been many great experiences along the way. I think it's probably a combination of all roles. Now I focus more on my children, and I also realize that I can't play football forever, so these two roles might be more important."
When asked about the origins of his investment interests and which athletes inspired him, Götze said: "There are probably two main aspects. First, I've always observed how other American athletes structure their lives and what they do besides sports. Later, when I transferred from Dortmund to PSV Eindhoven and had a son, I started to think about whether I needed to change how I structured my life, since I couldn't play football forever."
"Many things came together, so I began to look more closely into investments and developed an interest in areas beyond football and family, including other asset classes. Top athletes like LeBron James and Kevin Durant have done a lot, and I've learned a great deal from them. Roger Federer's business ventures and David Beckham's post-retirement franchise projects in Miami have also impressed me. Top athletes truly excel at these things."
Regarding his role at Eintracht Frankfurt and how he feels about it, Götze stated: "I am very happy. I feel good here, my family has settled in well, and the conditions are excellent. I also know that in ten years, I won't be able to do this anymore. The combination of these factors feels wonderful. It's completely different from how I felt at 20 or 22. Back then, I didn't know what the future held, whether I'd get injured or face other situations. These very factors make the current experience even more special."
Discussing the German national team's performance during the international break and the new head coach, Götze commented: "I think there were many positive aspects, especially with many players getting the chance to play and show what they can do. Winning always makes things easier, and in football, results are what ultimately matter. However, there are many talented young players in the squad, and the overall energy is good, which I think is important right now. It's a long way back to where we want to be, and that's to be expected; we shouldn't forget that. I don't know how many training sessions they had in total, but it takes time."
Speaking about Klopp, Götze said: "If there's one thing he's good at, it's getting young and older players to gel, creating a good team atmosphere and rhythm, while also playing interesting football. He has proven this at Mainz, Dortmund, and Liverpool. I think that's his strength. However, this doesn't happen overnight; it's a process that takes time. I think he's done very well so far."
Regarding life after retirement and his plans once his career ends, Götze stated: "I sometimes wonder what daily life will be like when I can no longer play football at 40. But that's still a long way off, and I am preparing for life after retirement, though I don't have concrete plans yet."
"I don't want to be deeply involved in the operational side of the sports industry, so I don't plan to be a coach or sporting director, but I hope to stay connected to sports. I will look more closely into investments, striving to learn and gain experience, and then see what suits me. I've always been interested in how to connect finance, private equity, sports, and business operations, and I might devote more energy to that in the future."
