According to the German Football Association (DFB), Germany national team coach Jürgen Klopp has adjusted the two squads for this international break, with Karim Adeyemi and Lennart Karl swapping places due to load management.

Adeyemi, who transferred from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona this summer, will be part of Germany's initial 24-man squad for two Nations League matches: away against the Netherlands on Thursday and against Greece in Augsburg three days later.

The 18-year-old Bayern Munich youth player Karl will move to the second squad and will participate in the match against Serbia in Munich on October 1 and the away match against Greece in Thessaloniki three days later.

Karl previously missed this summer's European Championship due to a muscle injury suffered during the final preparation phase. Adeyemi has already made 11 appearances for the German national team, with his last cap coming in October 2024.

The DFB stated that the swap between the two players was for load management purposes. Karl did not feature in Bayern Munich's 7-0 victory over Union Berlin last Friday; Adeyemi came off the bench in the final stages of Barcelona's 3-1 win.

As the German national team needs to play four consecutive matches during this international break, Klopp, in his first training camp as Germany coach, called up a total of 44 players and divided them into two squads. The first group of players began arriving at the training base in Herzogenaurach on Sunday evening, and by Monday noon, the entire first squad had reported.
