According to John Percy of The Telegraph, Leicester City are close to completing the signing of former Southampton midfielder Will Smallbone.

Smallbone is currently a free agent, so Leicester City will not need to pay a transfer fee. The two parties are expected to sign a three-year contract.

The Republic of Ireland international previously played for Southampton, where he played a significant role under manager Russell Martin. In the 2023/24 season, Smallbone was one of the key players in Southampton's successful promotion campaign.
