The fallout from Liverpool's Premier League defeat to Manchester City continues while there's also news on the contract front

Liverpool will need to quickly put their weekend defeat to Manchester City behind them as they prepare to return to Champions League action. Andoni Iraola tasted victory in his first match at Europe's top table when the Reds beat Atletico Madrid 2-1, and next up is a trip to Austria to face LASK.
A number of players missed Sunday's loss through injury, with the likes of Alexander Isak remaining doubtful for the trip to Austria. However, Ryan Gravenberch will be available despite his red card against City, with his suspension only applying to domestic games.
The reaction to Gravenberch's sending off has been mixed. While many considered it harsh, some blame has still come the way of the Dutch midfielder.
We've got an update on that as well as the latest on contract plans for England international Rio Ngumoha. Here are our latest lines from around Anfield.
No issues on Ngumoha deal
Liverpool are not worried about any hiccups on Rio Ngumoha's new contract, according to TeamTalk. Both Arsenal and Bayern Munich have been linked with a swoop for the teenager but the Reds are said to remain confident no one will throw a spanner in the works.
Ngumoha signed a deal running until 2028 when he turned 17. Clubs are allowed to tie players down to longer-term deals after their 18th birthday but more than a month has passed since the winger celebrated that milestone.
There is not thought to be a great deal to worry about, if the latest reports are to be believed. Liverpool are said to be ironing out some final minor details, after which they are expected to officially confirm the new deal.
Rooney takes aim at Gravenberch

Plenty of pundits came to Gravenberch's defence regarding his two yellow cards. But former England star Wayne Rooney still apportioned some blame to the Liverpool star. Gravenberch saw red for a pair of bookable offences and Rooney thought the Dutchman could have been smarter after picking up his first yellow card.
"I think the first yellow card is harsh." Rooney said on Match of the Day. "He’s obviously gone for the ball, it’s a poor touch by Elliot Anderson, and then he just nicks it and Gravenberch catches him on the top of his foot and then he goes down. So it’s probably not a yellow card.
"But for me, the second one, when you’ve been booked and you’re on a yellow card then you leave yourself in a position where you can get a second yellow card and sent off. It’s a bit naive and stupid for that second yellow card."
