According to AS, Celta de Vigo captain Iago Aspas attended a promotional event for "Galician Mussels," where he discussed his impending retirement, his current injury recovery, and the team's start to the season. He stated that he doesn't know how he will adapt to life after leaving the field, but hopes to return to action after the international break.

At the end of last season, Aspas decided to play one final season before officially hanging up his boots. With eight months left until retirement, he has begun to imagine life after football, and he finds accepting this change difficult.

Speaking about his feelings, Aspas said: "Whether watching a game on TV or from the sidelines, that feeling is very, very unpleasant. To be honest, I've talked about this with my wife; I don't know what I'll do when I truly leave the field. After all, I'm with my teammates every day now, so you feel all of this more deeply."

In the previous match against Málaga, Aspas suffered a rectus femoris muscle tear in his left thigh, causing him to miss the team's last two games. Currently, his recovery is progressing well, and he hopes to return to action after the international break.

Regarding his recovery, Aspas stated: "Right now, I'm following my individual recovery plan. Yesterday, I started running slowly, and if I'm not mistaken, it's been nine days since the injury. The recovery period is about three to four weeks, so I hope to be back after the international break."

Aspas then discussed Celta de Vigo's start to the season.

He said: "It was a victory that brought us relief, and one we deserved. However, sometimes in football, it's not about whether you deserve it, but about putting the ball in the net. To be honest, we've been playing very well, and based on our performance, we should have more points than we do now, but football isn't always about what you deserve."
