According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona plans to announce contract extensions for Raphinha, Marc Bernal, and Esparto, while Deco continues to finalize the club's long-term squad planning.

Barcelona fans have plenty to celebrate. The team currently leads La Liga with an impressive record and attractive style of play, and secured a major victory in their Champions League opener. Last summer, Barcelona secured Flick's commitment through at least June 2028, followed by bringing in several talented players. Last year, Deco also completed contract extensions for 9 players, including Cubarsí, Eric, Pedri, and Yamal. On May 22, 2025, Barcelona officially announced Raphinha's contract extension through June 2028.
This season, Raphinha has been in outstanding form, leading La Liga's scoring charts with 12 goals and 14 total goals in 8 matches. Barcelona has offered the new captain a new deal. Deco announced at the September assembly meeting that Raphinha will sign a two-year extension, taking his contract through June 2030, with the club planning to officially announce this in the coming weeks. If completed, Raphinha will be nearly 34 when his contract expires.
Beyond Raphinha, Barcelona will also announce extensions for Marc Bernal and Esparto. Esparto has been a surprise this season, temporarily surpassing Balde and Cancelo in the competition for the left-back position, despite his primary position being right-back.
Before the international break, Barcelona completed a contract extension with Egyptian forward Hamza Abdelkarim. The 18-year-old Hamza attended the World Cup and performed well in preseason under Flick. With Bayern Munich potentially looking to recruit him and his previous release clause at only €15 million, Barcelona's technical team acted quickly to extend his contract through June 2030 and increase his release clause to €150 million.
In early 2026, Barcelona also secured Fermín López's future. The midfielder from El Campillo signed a contract through June 30, 2031, on January 30. This means Fermín, like Yamal, Eric, and recent signings such as Gordon, Adeyemi, and Bićvić, all have five years remaining on their contracts.
After extending contracts with Raphinha, Bernal, and Esparto, Barcelona is still awaiting next moves regarding Gerard Martín and Bryan Fariñas. Once these are resolved, Deco will have essentially completed his long-term squad planning for Barcelona. Currently, only Szczęsny's contract expires in June. After extending for an additional year last summer, the Polish goalkeeper will end his Barcelona career next summer. Livaković joined last summer on a contract through June 2030, bringing reinforcement to the goalkeeper position and providing reliable cover when Joan García is injured.
