According to Portuguese media outlet Record, Portugal national team coach Jorge Jesus posted on social media on Tuesday to celebrate the team's perfect record in the first four UEFA Nations League matches, securing a spot in the quarterfinals early. Jesus expressed satisfaction with the team's performance and confidence for the next stage of the competition.

Jesus posted photos from Portugal's first four matches on his personal social media, writing: "We concluded this phase with excellent results. Four matches, four victories, defeating Wales, Denmark, and Norway twice! Bring on the next stage—we are full of confidence!"

Since the start of this UEFA Nations League campaign, Portugal has been in strong form, securing early qualification for the quarterfinals in just four matches. After victories over Wales, Denmark, and Norway (twice), Jesus has led the team to four consecutive wins, marking a strong start to his tenure as Portugal national team coach.

Currently, Portugal leads Group A of League A in the UEFA Nations League with 12 points, needing just one more point to officially secure first place in the group. Meanwhile, Denmark defeated Wales away by a single goal, keeping the race for second place in the group competitive. As the second-place team also advances to the quarterfinals, other teams still have a chance to qualify.

Notably, Portugal's 12 points from the first four rounds sets a new record for the team's best points tally at this stage of the UEFA Nations League. Previously, Portugal had earned 10 points in the first four rounds of the 2020/21 season, a record that has now been surpassed.

The format of the inaugural UEFA Nations League in 2018/19 was different, with each group featuring only three teams. Portugal won the first UEFA Nations League title that season and lifted the trophy again in 2025.

Currently, there are two rounds remaining in the UEFA Nations League group stage. For Portugal, who have already qualified, the next goals are to officially secure first place in the group and aim to conclude this stage with a perfect record of six wins.
