Ahead of the Madrid Derby, Atletico Madrid defender Cristian Romero gave an official club interview, discussing his expectations for the match, the support from the home fans, and how he's settling into the team, while also commenting on his friend Alvarez.

On the Derby

On Settling into Atletico Madrid

Cristian Romero remarked: "For me, it wasn't difficult to settle into the team because this group is truly fantastic. Whether it's my teammates, the coaching staff, or the club's employees, everyone is very kind. From day one, they made it easy for me to integrate, so I quickly felt very comfortable.

Of course, another thing that made it easier for me to settle in is having friends like Julian and Musso here. So, my integration into the team has indeed been quite smooth."

On Alvarez

Cristian Romero commented: "I think Julian is in great form right now. Putting aside all the external talk and discussions, privately, I'm his friend and have known him for a long time. The Julian I see is still full of motivation and as driven as ever. He is a very professional player.

Furthermore, I really like him because he's my friend. I think he'll be able to make it for this derby. He's putting in tremendous effort. He had a small issue last week, but now I see he's very happy and very motivated. He's training every day to be ready for this match. This is a very important game for the team, for the entire club, for the fans, and for everyone. He's doing everything he can to be ready, and I hope he can repeat what he did last season."
