Norway manager Ståle Solbakken revealed ahead of their UEFA Nations League A match against Wales that captain Ødegaard is a doubt for the away game on October 2 at 2:45 AM Beijing Time (CET).
Ødegaard suffered an injury during Norway's match against Portugal caused by a challenge from Bernardo Silva, but he traveled with the team to Wales. Solbakken stated: "I really wish I could definitively say he will play, but I don't know. He might do a light test on the field today. He is here now; if there was no chance of him playing, he wouldn't have come. We'll wait and see; he will go onto the field and try it out."
Regarding Norway potentially changing their formation, Solbakken said: "The last time Ødegaard was absent, we used several different lineups and formations. We have some options; we just haven't decided yet."
