Luis Díaz sat down for an exclusive interview with Telemundo Deportes at his home, discussing his feelings after joining Bayern, the team and his teammates, and his Ballon d'Or nomination. This is the first part of the interview.

Thank you for inviting us to your home. I remember our first conversation, right after you played in the Super Cup. I asked you what kind of club Bayern was and how big it was, and you made a gesture like this. What did that gesture mean? How big is Bayern to you?

I think the expression I made then said it all. For me, Bayern is very special. This club came into my career at the right moment and I was very, very happy then, and I still am very happy now.

So I've always been grateful to them for wanting me. Since then, everything has been very good. I'm happy and very pleased to be part of this great club, this great institution, and to have such excellent teammates around me.

All of this is very special to me. My expression hasn't changed; it's the same now as it was then. I hope to spend more time with them in the future.

After you arrived here, you quickly started scoring goals. I remember many people asking me, "Does he need time to adapt?" We would also say that patience was needed, as it was a new league. But why were you able to adapt so quickly?

I think it's because of the team and the coaching staff. When they give you that kind of trust from the moment you arrive, they make you feel like you've been with them for a long time, treating you like family. I think that makes it much easier to adapt.

Moreover, the team was already playing very well. I think when the whole team functions well, individual performances also improve, so it's easier to integrate under such circumstances. They are a very special group of teammates who always want to move forward, always help you, and are always willing to help you reach your full potential. This is obviously very important when you first join a club.

Speaking of you personally, your performance that season also earned you a Ballon d'Or nomination. What does it mean to you to be on such a list? Regardless of whether you ultimately win, what does it mean to you to be among the world's best players?

Of course, it means a lot. For me, it's an added bonus, because not many people get the chance to be nominated, right? So it's very special to me. I will always keep it in my memory as part of my career. You set goals for yourself, but sometimes you never imagine you can go this far. But when something like this happens to you, you're very happy.

It also shows that you are performing well and that you had an incredible season. So of course, knowing that I can be part of this list makes me very proud.

You joined a team with many stars. I imagine you already knew some of these players, but after truly coming here and spending every day with them, who surprised you the most? Which player impressed you the most?

The person who impressed me the most, and I've told Kane this before, is Kane himself. He is very special to me because I knew him before—we played against each other many times in the Premier League.

I already knew he could score a lot of goals, but spending every day with him, seeing what he does in training, and observing his mentality, these things amaze me even more. I feel like he does everything very well. So he is one of the players who surprised me the most.

Then there's Michael Olise. Michael also surprised me a lot, especially with his ability. His playing style, how he handles the ball, and his composure on the field all impressed me deeply. Whether in attack or defense, we have formed a very excellent unit. As I said, we operate as a team. I think this is what makes Bayern special.

When we talked about the Ballon d'Or earlier, you told me that Kane is the best player in the world. But if you had to describe him in one sentence, what would you choose to describe Kane's playing style? Like "incredible" or "outstanding"?

I don't know how to describe it. Maybe "incredible." For me, there really isn't an accurate description.

Sometimes I can't find the most suitable word to describe him, because he had a very excellent season. And even before that, he had always been proving himself to be one of the best players in the world, and he proved it again last season.

For me, he is the top candidate to win the Ballon d'Or. So I hope he can get this award. We will also cheer him on here, hoping he ultimately wins. Good luck to him, very, very good luck.

Now let's talk about Olise as a player. You also just told me that he is one of the people who impressed you a lot. And everyone knows that some of his behaviors off the field are quite distinctive. Is he like this when you interact with him every day? Is he really such an eccentric person, or is that just an image he presents to the media and fans?

I think he's just like that because we spend every day with him, and he really is like that. That's his personality. He's quieter and doesn't talk much, but at the same time, he's always very attentive to helping you. For example, on the field, he'll give you reminders, help with defense, or tell you how to run to receive the pass he wants to give you.

He pays close attention to these details. Some things might not be easily seen in a game, but he always notices. It's the same in training; he's always trying to improve. After training, he'll stay a bit longer to continue working on his shooting, and his shooting ability is already very excellent. So I think it's these details that make him different. He's very focused on himself and wants to be one of the best players.

He's humble and a great teammate. He laughs and jokes, just like everyone else, just like any normal person. But for me, that's his personality, and I think he's great like that.
