League Two side Gillingham pulled off a huge shock as they beat Brentford on penalties in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday to progress to the last 16 of the competition.

Brentford made the perfect start when Ivan Toney put them ahead inside three minutes, but they failed to add to their lead, and were punished when substitute Mikael Mandron equalised for Gillingham 15 minutes from time.

This took the game to penalties, and after 11 perfect spot-kicks, Mikkel Damsgaard hit the bar to send Gillingham through.
