Hull City officially announced that Tromsø's 20-year-old midfielder Jens-Erik Dahl has joined the club on a five-year contract. According to previous reports from Sky Sports, the transfer fee was approximately £10 million.

Hull City is delighted to announce the signing of Norwegian midfielder Jens-Erik Dahl from Eliteserien club Tromsø for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old has penned a five-year deal, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2031, becoming Hull City's sixth summer signing.

The Norway U21 international can operate as a central midfielder or defensive midfielder. He has made 105 appearances for his hometown club Tromsø, scoring 19 goals and providing 11 assists.

Dahl joined Tromsø at the age of six, making 35 appearances and scoring 7 goals for Tromsø II in Norway's fourth tier. He made his first-team debut at just 17, when the team defeated HamKam 2–1.

He has made 89 appearances in Norway's top flight, the Eliteserien, helping Tromsø finish third in the league in both the 2023 and 2025 seasons.

The midfielder has represented Norway at various youth levels and has European experience, having played in two Europa League qualifiers and four Europa Conference League qualifiers.

Before leaving mid-season in 2026 to transfer to East Yorkshire, Dahl scored 7 goals in 14 Eliteserien matches, placing him joint-second in the league's top scorers.
