On August 27, according to Portuguese media outlet A Bola, Nacional da Madeira is close to signing South Korean winger Song Min-kyu, currently playing for FC Seoul. The transfer is reportedly in its final stages, with Portuguese media outlet Record later confirming the news.

To prioritize his career development and pursue his dream of playing in European football, Song Min-kyu is willing to accept a pay cut to join the club.
Song Min-kyu participated in the 2022 World Cup and has earned 14 caps for the South Korean national team. He had previously attracted interest from English clubs, including Hull City, but that move fell through due to UK work permit issues.
Now, Nacional da Madeira's strong interest presents an ideal opportunity for him to establish himself in European football.
This transfer presents a difficult situation for Song Min-kyu's departure. The K-League transfer window has closed, and as FC Seoul currently leads the league in the first stage, the club cannot sign a replacement.
However, head coach Kim Gi-dong and club management ultimately decided to honor their previous commitment to the player. When Song Min-kyu joined FC Seoul in January, both parties agreed that if a European club made an offer, he would be permitted to leave to pursue his European football dream.
