Germany coach Klopp has defended his decision to announce two different squads for the upcoming international break. Germany will play four matches during that period, and he also explained the reasons for calling up Eintracht Frankfurt striker Ebenezer.

Ebenezer previously played for Morocco's youth teams and had been linked with the Moroccan national team for years. Now he may finally make his debut for Germany.

Klopp called up the striker and made no secret of his admiration for the 23-year-old.

Ebenezer has had a strong start to the season, scoring three goals in three Bundesliga appearances, which quickly caught the attention of the new German coach.

At a press conference on Thursday, Klopp specifically praised Ebenezer's performance. He said: "I watched his first game for Eintracht Frankfurt and I thought: 'Who is this? Where did they find him?' There was no debate among the coaching staff—we immediately agreed: 'Yes, we have to call him up.'"

He added: "His intelligence, especially in the final third, his ability to avoid offside traps, is outstanding and remarkable. He is an extremely talented player."

Germany announced separate squads for matches against the Netherlands (September 24) and Greece (September 27), and another squad for matches against Serbia (October 1) and Greece (October 4). Goalkeeper Dahmen (Augsburg) is the only player to appear on both lists.

Klopp warned: "We haven't set a starting lineup, nor a reserve lineup. We want to win all four of these games."

He stated that his intention was to evaluate as many players as possible during the upcoming training camp.

He said: "I've opened the door completely, and I've said that anyone who wants to participate has a chance."

The new German coach hinted at this in his first press conference back in July, when he said he had a "list of over 60 players."

Some specific decisions still need to be made, as Ter Stegen will return as the starting goalkeeper after not playing for 15 months.

However, Ter Stegen should be aware of Dahmen, the only player on both squads, who appears to be Klopp's preferred option. Klopp said: "He is a very talented goalkeeper, and I hope to see him play more."

The new German coach intends to rely on experienced players such as Kimmich, who will wear the captain's armband and play as a midfielder.

Klopp added: "We never discussed the possibility of him playing right-back. He is an experienced player who must set an example. But we have to adapt to a new style of play. We still have tactical issues to resolve. I believe he will unlock his full potential."

A total of 11 new players have been called up, and 16 players have never represented the national team before. This generational change is important and brings new energy to the team.

Klopp said: "When I called up Konte, he smiled for two whole minutes. I also surprised Mika-Bauer, Felix-Kehrer, and Hannes-Wolf."

Freiburg also has four players called up: Treu, Engelhardt, Max Rosenfelder, and Scherhane.

Klopp added: "Freiburg has been performing very well recently. Each team has a different character, but everyone is contributing. You can't buy a strong mentality, but you can cultivate it. Freiburg's players have this mindset."
