Richarlison had planned to leave North London in the summer, but the transfer ultimately fell through, and he has since been excluded from Tottenham's squad.
On Saturday, another chapter was added to this ongoing saga when, hours after Tottenham's 2-3 loss to Villa, Richarlison posted training videos on social media. The first video was captioned: " Still focused"; the second showed him performing a sprint test, captioned: "35.4 km/h - I've broken my personal record."

Since Tottenham's opening Premier League defeat to Brentford, Richarlison has been excluded from the squad. Earlier this week, he was also left out of De Zerbi's lineup for the Carabao Cup third-round match away to Liverpool. His absence is particularly notable given Tottenham's attacking struggles this season. In Saturday's match against Villa, Tottenham conceded two early goals before scoring through Gallagher and Van Hecke late in the game, but it proved too little too late as they lost 2-3.
Earlier this week, Richarlison retweeted a post about his exclusion from the squad, adding the caption "Why?" and a sweating emoji to express his frustration.
However, manager De Zerbi has been firm about Richarlison's absence. He stated on Monday: "I spoke with him many times at the beginning of the season to convince him to stay, but he didn't want to. I can't beg him to stay every day. I did my job at the start of the season: I spoke with him, and even offered him a contract extension. Since he said 'no, thank you,' my work is done."
"I know what happened over the past 45 days, but I cannot explain it; that's not my style. This is a matter between the player and the club, and that's where the conflict arose."
Additionally, on the final day of the transfer window, Richarlison had an opportunity to return to Everton for £35 million, but the move ultimately fell through as the two parties could not reach an agreement on personal terms.
It has been reported that he was excluded from Tottenham's squad due to a dispute over the terms of his nine-month contract extension.
Richarlison, who was Tottenham's leading scorer last season with 11 Premier League goals, is believed to remain in North London, training with De Zerbi's squad but not participating in tactical sessions.
In 2022, Richarlison transferred from Everton to Tottenham for a fee of £60 million.
