The Japanese national team began its domestic training camp on the 21st, preparing for four upcoming matches, including a fixture against Uruguay, following the World Cup.

On the first day, 16 of the 31 players assembled. Due to the approaching Typhoon No. 25, the full team training was canceled and replaced with indoor conditioning work.

Midfielder Ku Se-matsu (23, Southampton), earning his first national team call-up, spoke with reporters in Tokyo before the camp began. Eager to establish himself at international level, he stated with determination: "I can play any position the coach asks me to. My focus right now is earning playing time."
