According to L'Équipe, Mbappé explained his reasons for partnering with On and discussed plans to collaborate with the brand on football equipment during an interview.

Allemann noted that while On has no football history, the company always looks to the future. He introduced On's LightSpray technology, which creates a second-skin structure around the foot using robotic arms and can produce a boot in under three minutes.

Boot and equipment development is ongoing, with launch expected in 2027. Mbappé has tested the boots during training but has not worn them in official matches. Previously, he wore unmarked black Nike boots. Mbappé said: "I'll be wearing On boots soon. The product is at an advanced stage, but it's important to show different phases and share the production process. I don't have the urge to suddenly switch to new boots all at once."
