According to the Daily Mail, Starlizard, a company founded by Brighton & Hove Albion owner Tony Bloom, uses data and algorithms to support the team's operations, contributing to Brighton & Hove Albion's sustained success. The company's team consists of approximately 40 to 50 people, with core algorithms developed off-site by mathematics graduates from the University of Exeter.

Starlizard is located in The Iceworks office building in Camden, London, and employees are required to sign non-disclosure agreements. Security within the building is strict, with only a few individuals having access to recruitment models and data. Although Bloom is not formally a director or shareholder of Starlizard, he remains deeply involved in evaluating players, teams, and match outcomes.

According to informed sources, Bloom can project Brighton & Hove Albion's potential league standings through thousands of simulations. Only a small number of personnel, such as Brighton & Hove Albion's technical director, have access to these models. Former Brighton & Hove Albion executives Paul Winstanley and Sam Jewell were later recruited by Chelsea; former Brighton & Hove Albion technical director Dan Ashworth moved to Manchester United.

Starlizard was founded 20 years ago, initially using data and predictive models to identify market opportunities in global betting odds. After Bloom acquired Brighton & Hove Albion in 2009, the company's data also began to assist in team building. Starlizard's profits have also funded Bloom's investments in Brighton & Hove Albion. His investments in Union Saint-Gilloise and Hearts have also yielded positive results.

However, an informed source claims the two reconciled a few months ago.

Ryan Tadfield, a former member of the Starlizard betting group, claimed in documents filed with the High Court that Bloom owed him a portion of nearly £190 million in betting profits. Tadfield also accused Bloom of concealing his identity by placing bets through athletes and businessmen, and alleged that Starlizard earns approximately £600 million annually. The report states that the case remains unresolved, and Bloom denies the allegations.

Bloom also provides football recruitment analysis data to a select few former colleagues through Jamestown Analytics. Grimsby Town and Swansea City are among the teams that benefit. Grimsby CEO Polly Bancroft previously worked for Brighton & Hove Albion's women's team and later held a similar role at Manchester United; Swansea CEO Tom Gorringe previously managed marketing and women's football at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The report notes that Brighton & Hove Albion is currently third in the Premier League, and Bloom continues to utilize Starlizard's data team to support the club. Maxim De Cuyper and the re-signed Pascal Groß are key players for the team. Brighton & Hove Albion also brought in Luka Vušković for £50 million, and the report suggests he could become another high-value player sold by the club in the future.

A source stated that Brighton & Hove Albion is Bloom's top priority, and he would not provide similar data support to direct competitors.
