According to Marca, Luis Figo and Guti discussed the Real Madrid derby and the Ballon d'Or during the La Herrería Charity Golf Tournament.

Regarding Real Madrid's complaints about referees, Figo said: "You're always upset after a loss, but I don't think the referees are targeting Real Madrid. Over the course of a season, the stronger teams always benefit in the end. I think Real Madrid is in good form, and the arrival of a new coach will reignite hope for the fans and the club. Real Madrid didn't win some matches, but the season is long, and ultimately it comes down to consistency."

Speaking about the Ballon d'Or, Figo said he doesn't vote and that several candidates currently have a chance. He believes the award could go to a Spanish player who won the World Cup, a player who won the Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain, or Mbappé. Figo also joked that he should have campaigned more for the award back in his day, noting that the situation is different now, as players didn't promote themselves as much for awards in the past.

Guti believes the Ballon d'Or will be contested by Kane, Mbappé, and Rodri. He hopes Mbappé wins because Mbappé plays for Real Madrid. Guti noted that Fabián Ruiz won the World Cup and Champions League with Spain, but his profile might not be as high as other candidates; if only performance were considered, Fabián Ruiz should also win the award.

Guti stated that he hopes Rodri joins Real Madrid but respects the player's own decision, and believes Real Madrid's squad is strong enough that the club wouldn't necessarily suffer without him. Regarding derby officiating, Guti and Figo agreed: they do not think referees are targeting Real Madrid, but there were some questionable calls in the derby, and any coach would complain, not just Mourinho.
