According to Sky Sports, McTominay will undergo a medical examination following heart surgery to determine his eligibility to play.

McTominay's return is drawing closer. On Tuesday, October 6, the Napoli midfielder will undergo a medical to be cleared to play. The Scot had heart surgery in September, after which he completed his initial recovery in England before returning to the Castel Volturno training ground for individualized training.

If the results are favorable, Napoli coach Antonio Conte may consider including the midfielder in the squad for the next league match.
