According to ANSA, Lazio coach Gattuso praised Mancini's work with the Italian national team, stating that the squad possesses both talent and fighting spirit.

Speaking about the national team under Mancini at the 12th Giuseppe Colalucci Award ceremony, Gattuso said: "In my opinion, the Italian national team is a talented squad, and I've said that before, but it's crucial for the entire team to be able to showcase these talents. We have excellent players, and Mancini has done a fantastic job; this team shows great fighting spirit when they play. After the first match, it seemed like everything had to be rebuilt, but the coach did well to change everyone's perception."

Gattuso also added: "Italian football is changing; the games are more enjoyable, and there are fewer fouls called by referees. We lack stadiums that can bring fans back to cheer for their teams."
