Recently, Sporting CP coach Rúi Borges was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo's departure from the national team during a press conference.

Borges stated, "I will not comment on national team matters. I have neither the ability nor the right to do so. Those are all speculations, and we cannot discuss speculations. As for Cristiano Ronaldo's greatness, it's not just at Sporting CP, but across the world. We can't fully comprehend what Ronaldo means to the world."

"I am incredibly proud to appreciate and continue to appreciate his footballing brilliance. I always wish him and Coach Luís Castro, whom I admire and who is also very important to us young coaches, all the best. Cristiano will say farewell in the way he wants and understands. Beyond that, I just want to say that my admiration for him is immense."
