In Bayern Munich's away match against Augsburg, Neuer made an error on his opening touch, and Augsburg player Philipp Tietz scored just 8 seconds after kickoff. The Bundesliga officially confirmed this as the fastest goal in Bundesliga history.

The previous fastest Bundesliga goal record was 9 seconds, held jointly by Bayer Leverkusen's Karim Bellarabi and Hoffenheim's Kevin Volland.

Data provider Sportec Solutions confirmed the goal at 8 seconds. Manual timing clocked it at 8.4 seconds. If the official time is confirmed, Rafael Leão will still hold the record for the fastest goal in Europe's top five leagues.
