The Ugandan keeper has confirmed to Goal that he has left Batoto ba Mungu and is now open to offers from clubs in Kenya

Sofapaka keeper Mathews Kigonya has ditched the club despite having a few months remaining on his contract.

Kigonya has confirmed to Goal that he has left Batoto ba Mungu on ‘personal issues’ and is now open to offers from clubs in Kenya and even abroad.

“It is true that I have left Sofapaka. It was on mutual agreement and now that I have six months remaining on my contract, the club has asked that I can leave if I get an offer.

“The club is ready to release if and when I get a new club. I want to thank the team for the support they gave me during my support here and wish them all the best in the coming season.

“I can confirm that I am now open to offers either from here Kenya or even outside.”

The Ugandan keeper was very influential for Sofapaka during his time with the team. His exit comes days after the team also released striker Rodgers Aloro.
