Real Kashmir got back to winning ways as they got the better of Indian Arrows with goals in each half...

Real Kashmir registered their first win at home in I-League after beating Indian Arrows 2-0 at the TRC Turf Ground in Srinagar on Sunday. Goals in each half from Surchandra Singh (25') and Bazie Armand (68') were enough for the hosts to get the three points from the match.

The Snow Leopards started showing their intentions right from the first whistle as they raided Arrows' defence with purpose and menace. Arrows once again repeated the same mistake that they did against Mohun Bagan, of showing too much respect to their opponents in the opening 30 minutes which allowed Kashmir to further dominate the match.

David Robertson made a big decision of leaving out Srinagar's poster-boy Danish Farooq and instead handed a start to Surchandra Singh. The rest of the line-up remained unchanged from the previous match against Mohun Bagan.

Whereas, Floyd Pinto made three changes to the side that went down 2-0 against Bagan in their last game. Aniket Jadhav, Suresh Singh and Reamsochung Aimol failed to make it tto the starting XI and they were replaced by Ninthoinganba Meetei, Rahim Ali and debutant Vikram Singh.

Kashmir's head coach also made a tactical change as he tried his luck by fielding Mason Robertson alongside Gnohere Krizo which is an unfamiliar position for the natural centre-back. But he did not look uneasy in the attacking third and did a decent job in his new role. He was using his physical superiority to win the aerial duels against Anwar Ali and Narendra as he was acting as the target man for his midfielders.

In the 25th minute, Robertson showed a clean pair of heels to Boris Singh as he turned with the ball leaving Boris for dead. The Scotsman then produced a fine low cross into the box which evaded Anwar and Ashish Rai to fall for Surchandra who made no mistake to poke it home from close range.

After conceding Pinto's boys started pressing higher up the pitch which helped them win back possession on a number of occassions. But a lack of creativity in the attacking third was not helping them to produce an incisive final ball for Rahul KP to work on.

Arrows started to play with more intensity after the break but Bazie Armand and Khalid Qayoom were doing a brilliant job in midfield to restrict them from progressing into dangeous areas. Amarjit Singh was busy hoisting long balls targetting Vikram and Rahim but the attackers were being outmuscled by Loveday Okechukwu in defense.

In the 66th minute Robertson should have made it 2-0 but he shot straight at Gill after he was set-up inside the box by Krizo.

But Kashmir did not have to wait long for their insurance goal as Surchandra delivered an inch-perfect corner to the far post for Danish Farooq who played it back inside the six-yard box for Bazie who scored a simple header from hand-shaking distance.

It was tall order for Amarjit and Co. to overturn a two-goal deficit as Kashmir started defending in numbers to protect their goal.

With this win Kashmir move to the fourth spot in the table with seven points from five matches while Indian Arrows slump to the 11th spot. The Srinagar-based club will next host Aizawl on December 5 while Indian Arrows will continue their journey on the road as they will face Minerva Punjab on December 1.
