According to Olé, Argentine midfielder Paredes discussed the pain of losing the FIFA World Cup final and his rib injury in an ESPN interview.

Paredes first spoke about his rib injury: "My ribs? The intense pain appeared in the first few days after the match against Egypt. We persevered with treatment and anti-inflammatory medication, and luckily I managed it well and was able to keep going."
Regarding the loss in the FIFA World Cup final, Paredes said: "It will be a long process to move past this experience. Although we achieved important things, losing a FIFA World Cup final hurts for a long time because we were so close to the championship once again."
"Now we also need to enjoy it, because it's not easy to maintain the high level we've sustained for so long, nor is it easy to achieve what we have."

"Although we lost the final, I believe we played a FIFA World Cup that allowed fans to see themselves in the team, which is very comforting. From that perspective, we are happy."
