According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona's pre-season friendly scheduled for August 15 in Tangier, Morocco, faces potential cancellation.

Reports indicate that despite external claims confirming the match and local announcements, the immigration crisis—triggered by a surge of migrants entering Ceuta by land and sea—has prompted a reassessment of the match's feasibility. The local situation has strained services and created social and political tensions.

Barcelona has sent representatives to Tangier to evaluate the venue's suitability, but the club has not made an official announcement as the situation remains uncertain. The match against IR Tanger was meant to be Barcelona's first friendly with the full squad, as World Cup-winning national team players are not due to return until August 12th.

Club sources revealed that, given the current political context, no one can guarantee the match will take place. Barcelona's board has weighed the pros and cons and consulted with relevant authorities. If the situation stabilizes, the match could still be held. Barcelona and IR Tanger had agreed on a revenue share of €4.5 million.

If the match is ultimately cancelled, Flick's pre-season schedule will consist of only two 90-minute friendlies against Birmingham and Al Ahly, and two 45-minute matches against Udinese and Nottingham Forest.
