The Championship side hope to sign the 19-year-old English youngster permanently, though other clubs have also inquired about a potential loan.

Preston North End, Blackburn Rovers, Bristol City, and Sheffield Wednesday have all expressed interest in the right-back, and foreign clubs are also looking to sign him.

However, Kambwala is highly regarded at Old Trafford. He was one of the academy players who impressed during Manchester United's preseason, particularly shining in the 5-0 victory over Rosenborg.

He joined Manchester United's academy at the age of 10 and later became the first player to sign an apprenticeship contract with Manchester United while still playing grassroots football for Stockport Vikings.

Manchester United has not yet decided on his development plan, but he is likely to remain in Michael Carrick's squad until January.
