In the first round of the 2026/27 Europa League, AFC Bournemouth defeated Real Sociedad 2-1 away, securing their first-ever European victory. The 26-year-old goalkeeper Petrovic was instrumental in this success.

In the 85th minute, Petrovic made a crucial save, parrying Oskarsson's close-range effort.
